This course provides students with the knowledge required to provide safe nursing care to pediatric patients and support for their families. Students will study the key principles of pediatrics including the importance of play for children. They will gain an understanding of the role of the pediatric nurse in promoting health and wellness across the different age groups, building on prior knowledge of growth and development. The nursing role in identification, intervention, and prevention of injury. The student will gain knowledge related to disease prevention through immunization.
