This is the first of two courses in mental health nursing. In this course, students will be introduced to environmental and psychological factors that influence the mental health and wellbeing of people at different stages of their life. Behaviours causing concern will be discussed along with both risk factors and protective factors. There will be a focus on common mental health disorders and how substance use in these different situations ,with different age groups, impacts on the patient outcome.

The Adult Nursing course will develop competencies required to care for adult patients with a variety of disorders in a safe manner, using the nursing process. In Adult Nursing 3, students will focus on the nursing care of adults experiencing prevalent health disorders related to the renal and urinary system, and the integumentary, neurological, haematology and endocrine systems. Students will be introduced to knowledge and skills required for holistic assessment and patient care management of these disorders, using the nursing process. Emphasis is placed on integrating therapeutic communciation skills and critical thinking skills in the students' development of competencies as well as ensuring evidence-based nursing care. This course includes classroom and laboratory simulation activities.

Students will be introduced to knowledge and skills required for holistic assessment and patient care management of these disorders, using the nursing process. Emphasis is placed on integrating therapeutic communication skills and critical thinking skills in student development of competencies as well as ensuring evidence-based nursing care. This course includes classroom and laboratory simulation activities.
Physical Examination 3 brings together knowledge and skills of health assessment and physical examination that students have learned in Physical Examination 1 and 2. In this course, students will apply their knowledge and skills of both focused and comprehensive assessment of an adult, an adolescent, a child and an older adult through the use of case studies/case scenarios by applying the nursing process. Additionally, the students will be expected to master a health assessment and physical examination of a patient in an applied situation in the simulation laboratory.
This course introduces students to the field of parasitology. Students will develop an understanding of common and significant parasites found in Cambodia, their life cycle, transmission of disease, and clinical manifestations. The course will also cover the epidemiology of parasitic disease including distribution, prevention and disease control in the community.
The course provides students with an understanding of the basic immunology. Students will be introduced to processes that enable the body’s defense mechanisms to fight infections. Topics include an overview of the function of the immune system and the different types of immune responses.
This course introduces students to the study of infectious diseases. It is designed to provide students with an understanding of the causative agents of infectious diseases of body systems. Clinical manifestations and prevention measures of selected infections will be a major focus of the student's study in this course.
